Occupational Therapy at Home in Burbank

Support to help patients perform daily activities (like bathing, dressing, eating) more independently through adaptive techniques and tools.

What occupational therapy includes

  • Adaptive techniques for daily activities
  • Tools for bathing, dressing and eating
  • Coordination of medical equipment
  • A plan of care approved by your physician

Getting started

How care starts

  1. Call us, or ask your doctor or hospital to send a referral.

You, a family member, a physician or a hospital discharge planner can all start the conversation.

  2. A nurse visits your home to assess and plan.

We look at your health, your medicines and the home itself, then agree what care is needed and how often.

  3. Your physician approves the plan of care and visits begin.

Nurses, therapists and aides visit on the schedule the plan sets out, and the plan changes as you do.

  4. We bill Medicare or your insurance directly.

There is no plan for you to choose or buy. We work with your insurance company and handle the paperwork.

Eligibility

Who qualifies for home health

Medicare covers home health care when the general conditions below are met. Other insurers use similar rules.

  • A doctor has ordered home health care and has signed a plan of care for you.
  • You need skilled nursing care, or physical therapy, occupational therapy or speech-language pathology.
  • Leaving home takes a considerable and taxing effort, so care at home is the practical way to get it.
