Accessibility

We want this site to work for everyone who needs care, including people using a screen reader, a keyboard alone, or a large text size.

The standard we build to

The target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 at level AA. It is a target we check against, not a certification.

What is in place

Every control can be reached and operated with a keyboard, and the element you are on carries a visible focus outline.

Text and background pairs are checked for contrast, headings run in order, images carry written descriptions, and nothing on the page moves or plays on its own.

The layout reflows to a phone screen and to enlarged text without cutting content off, and touch targets are at least 44 pixels.
